Ibrigu comes from a small family business with a passion for “tailoring”. Working through the years in the industry as consultants for clothing and weaving companies, they have created a project that melds all the experience we’ve gathered through our research. Their aim is to leave behind conventional industrialized fashion channels to return the right value to the concept of “made in Italy” and “handmade” goods that are produced by wise and skillful “hands” that draw, cut, sew, and embroider, forming garments with care and attention. It is important for IBRIGU to know that the final customer will take each IBRIGU piece home knowing it is unique and made of the highest quality materials. The concept of ethics in clothing, for them, means giving primary importance to re-using and recycling. They start by producing at least 90% of their products with pre-existing materials, which means largely avoiding putting new pollutants into the environment deriving from the use of dyes in fixing treatments, electricity, water…. Vintage materials are found in great quantities and above all when something is outdated and comes from a high level production, it has excellent standards of quality. The embroidery found in their pieces comes from small Indian companies which do business directly and without middlemen so they can attest personally to their professionalism and respect for their workers. Their silk scarves also originate from vintage and are selected from among the best Italian and French labels. The entire production of IBRIGU articles takes place in Italy, providing work to many wonderful “small” tailors who are also for the most part at zero kilometers. The accessories are all of Italian origin and come from artisan companies which usually live in the shadow of the big labels.
