Sputnik big chandelier lamp
Sputnik big chandelier lamp
On 4 October 1957 when the Russians launched the first artificial satellite to orbit the Earth, the satellite had a spherical shape of polished metal embellished with long radio antennas - no fewer than 4 - that did not go unnoticed.
The design of that period onwards therefore took inspiration from this satellite, christening the new brass lamps with glass spheres with the name of the satellite.
Sputnik expands in all directions in an explosion of light, like a firework. The thirty-armed structure in precious brass with galvanic gilding is elegantly combined with opaline glass end spheres.
